LONDON VEGAN ACTIONS up & coming – FOCUS ON FRAMPTON (Earthlings)

Getting around town to find who’s up and coming on the London scene led us to Jane Frampton who heads up London Vegan Actions. We stopped to take a look at what Jane has been up to around town and uncover a little of her story.

It all began for Jane in a meditation class when she was at drama school where she began to become more aware of how all beings are connected equally.

After practicing gratitude and acknowledging how things come into our lives, Jane one day blessed her dinner before suddenly realising that the animal didn’t want to give their life ‘The food went round and round in my mouth and I couldn’t swallow it’.

Afterwards she was compelled to find out more, and watched a video by Paul McCartney called ‘If slaughterhouses had glass walls’- she broke down right away.

Along with her sister, Jane became vegetarian, and then veganism quickly followed.

She became involved soon after in animal rights, and started a group called London Vegan Actions, which has now been going for two years and has been responsible for stopping foie gras being sold in London restaurants, stopping the sale of angora in all high street retailers and stopping the sale of tickets being sold in animal entertainment such as bullfighting.

Jane along with her sister were also in the BBC3 documentary ‘Fighting The System’ where they represented animal liberation and called on other young people to speak out about what they want to change.

Her most recent project is called The Earthlings Experience where she and other activists go on the underground and other public places wearing neutral masks and show the film Earthlings – which documents all animal exploitation such as food, clothing, animal testing and animal entertainment. The Earthlings Experience has now taken off in over 25 countries around the globe.

“The idea is that if people want to, they can look away, but the onus is on them. We’re just showing the truth. I have had abuse, but you have to remember that mostly people are fighting with themselves and are still coming to terms with what they still don’t know is really happening.”

I just want everyone to know that whatever it is you want to change, you can make a difference. I know what I’m meant to do in life now, and that’s to use my love and light to help set others free.”

The next Earthlings Experience is running from Camden Town out into the Tube Network this Saturday 12th of March 2016. Be sure to look out for it on the London Underground.

VEGAN KITCHEN – CHINESE NEW YEAR “MOCK DUCK” 新年好

And so It happened on Valentines day that the FISHINABOX Gang found themselves wandering around downtown Chinatown and it’s environs taking on the sights at the Chinese New Year Parade this month. New Year actually fell on the 8th but the celebrations for the rest of London ran on the 14th…

As we ambled around the crowds joyfully throwing bangers and snappers a sense of melancholy came over me like a cold icy finger as we happened upon one of those gloried mortuaries known as a duck shop.

A woeful sight indeed if ever there was one. Rows and Rows of beheaded, eviscerated and plucked little ducks on spits, all machinally slowly turning like unfortunate victims of the heinous “cook em alive” Titan; King Hyperion……..

As the sadness washed over me, my inner Buddha offered me the opportunity to show how nice a duck dish can actually be when there no duck in it… So without further ado i offloaded the last of our “Go Vegan” stickers on each and every one who showed an interest in taking one and made haste from those pits of decay to put mind to frying pan and to come up with the “Mock Duck Meal”.

Yes the Mock Duck Meal , not some martial arts movie cast off “shitting duck crouching chef ” special, this one is torture free and basically came out of the contents of the back of the cupboard. So lets get stuffed with fake, and not fucked, duck and you will see how perfect a meal can be without a corpse sleeping in the sauce begging for its soul to be set free……

Get your ingredients together in the pan and pour off the mock duck sauce and mix it with the bean juice on one side (we will come back to that later) ..

Oh almost forgot (again) the ingredients / recipe list……it went a little something like this….

2 onions / 2 tsp tandoori paste / 1 tin mushrooms / 1 tin red kidney beans drained /dash maple syrup / 6 tbsp imli (tamarind sauce) / 2 tins mock duck (drain juice to one side) / salt to season / reduce until the sauce begins to thicken and caramelize…..

Then cook up the Vegetable side dish…

Remember that grubby old tin of sauce drainings you put on the side ? Well let’s go get it right now to do the side dish.

Grab that left over sauce from mock duck / tandoori spice mix powder 3 tbsp / hemp seeds 1/2 cup / spinach / four leeks sliced down the middle and separated out / 1 apple chopped small / 2 tsp maple syrup

Fry the hemp seeds and add the spice mix….

Start working in the spinach then the leeks, lift and turn, lift and turn until completely softened and with a lattice like appearance

and then bring both together and serve for the most amazing mock duck sensory taste fuck ever. Some people in London still amazingly thinks it’s OK in this day and age to pluck a duck but that’s just NOT how we do things at the FISHINABOX….

So there you have it ! “Mock Duck Phooey” that’s all there is too it !… ENJOY dear Kitchen Cadets and GO VEGAN !

VEGAN KITCHEN – BRAISED TOFU IN TAMARIND MARINADE and the rest….

The pressure is relentless from the fan base and local community to start running some recipes in the news feed,. That’s all well and good though it takes an astronomical amount of attention for a seasoned vegan vegtable chopper to stop look and think about whats actually going into a dish to make it what it is and be able to scribble it down in some sort of sense or logic that can be followed by kitchen cadets. so here we go,. i will ramble and write and hopefully in the process will deliver for you the means to put this vegan masterpiece on your table. whether for guests or just to impress……anyone even your self… this is a must food flagship of vegan Asian fusion. So with no more ado,. lets get to it and GO VEGAN !!

STEP 1 – Take two tins , yes tins, boites / boxes / cans whatever you call them.. tins of braised tofu…nope we are not going to grow it in the FISHINABOX garden or ask for ancient virgins to press it in their wrinkly but holy hands for us in muslin sacks that were once worn by travelling Buddhist pilgrims… no no,,, we simply get two tins of Braised Tofu and chuck it in a big Tupperware bowl much like the picture below…

Questions may be asked when you do this, such as how come my braised tofu doesn’t have all that funky sauce with it ? Well that’s simply because I haven’t told you how and what it is that needs adding. Quite simply I can’t really remember everything i put in it but with a little help from friends i can just go into auto kitchen robot mode and then can write down what i do.

So here it is: 2 inch of fresh ginger grated , one teaspoon of madras curry paste (yes straight from a jar, you think theres time to make up spices as well ?) sweet tamarind sauce (shitloads of that obviously) some garlic salt, chilli flakes , black pepper , iodine salt. a twist of each spice grinder and then a few more and then after sniffing like “a pug over dog poo in the park” for a few minutes a few twists more…

Once that is done… turn over without breaking up the tofu chunks, cover and chuck it in a fridge. Then just chill out while you are waiting, log on line , say hi to friends, try on clothes, have a nap, put your feet up, do Druidic ceremonies…….. whatever floats your boat as you leave the Marinade in the Fridge everything will be peachy…

2 DAYS LATER………………..

OK. Here we go again. Lets pull the Marinaded braised tofu out of freddy the freak brothers fridge and start cooking. Before starting to cook, you must ensure you have put some money on the gas meter or tapped into next doors line or your culinary cooking experience might be cut short as the power literally cuts out.

Now lets see, a few mushrooms, about a box will do, 3 plump and squidgy tomatoes 3 massive onions, the sort that Catalan farmers with donkeys eat raw in European cinema period classics eat and you have all the ingredients you need.

Fry the onions until browning in the pan and add the tomatoes and mushrooms as the mushrooms start to soften add the braised tofu marinade all in and heat through..about 15 minutes does it until the marinade thickens and its ready to eat. Wahay !! wasn’t that simple ?

Sometimes people want to serve it up with a few sides ,. I would just add a simple Rice and mixed beans as it really doesn’t need anything more. wash the rice, cook the rice (add about a inch of water over the top of the rice and boil down lowering heat so that it doesn’t burn) until white and fluffy and thrown in the mixed beans, mix it and serve.

And that is all there is too it people.

There is some cool stuff about the key stuff about the amazing health benefits of tamarind and ginger etc.. its all good stuff, but then a vegan diet is simply that “all good stuff”, no corpses, no chemicals, etc,. good karma , torture free amazing food.. GO VEGAN and enjoy the revolution whilst sitting on your arse having second helpings…

Victims of domestic abuse are increasingly being forced to sign for credit, by their domineering and threatening partners, to finance abusers gambling, drug, drinking and dating habits – Citizens Advice Bureau suggests (2014).

Exercising financial control over someone or coercing them to get into debt is becoming an ever more common method of abuse.

An increasingly large number of women, have been being forced to take out loans, including payday loans, and then hand the money over to their partner. The also have access to their own working salaries restricted or completely seized by the abusive partner for his own personal disposal resulting in women having to beg and seek help from family members and friends for the basics such as food gas and electricity. In a report, published to coincide with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Citizens Advice warned that financial abuse was dramatically on the rise.
Almost three quarters of Citizens Advice workers, who spoke to those reporting financial abuse, said the victim had been forced by their abuser to take out credit and/or hand over their earnings under threat of violence.

Womens AID in the UK have been campaigning extensively to have all forms of abuse that are “non physical” (and as such largely unlegislated to date) recognised in law. The campaign has been met with a landmark achievement of accepting that Coercive control is at the heart of domestic abuse and that behavior of this nature is to be included in the serious crime acts.

Polly Neale, Director of Women’s Aid was reported to comment:

“Victims can be frightened of the repercussions of not abiding by someone else’s rules. Often they fear that violence will be used against them, or suffer from extreme psychological and emotional abuse.”
“Being subjected to repeated humiliation, intimidation or subordination can be as harmful as physical abuse, with many victims stating that trauma from psychological abuse had a more lasting impact than physical abuse.”
“Perpetrators will usually start abusing their victim by limiting her personal freedoms, monitoring her every move, and stripping away her control of her life; physical violence often comes later.”

Understanding what is and what is not abuse:

The Duluth Model is the most common batterer intervention program used globally to assess domestic abuse.

It is based in feminist theory positing that “domestic violence is the result of patriarchal ideology in which men are encouraged and expected to control their partners”.

The Domestic Abuse Intervention Project was the first all encompassing multi-discipline program addressing issues of domestic violence. Conducted in Duluth, Minnesota in 1981 and coordinated the actions of a variety of agencies dealing with domestic conflict, The Duluth model curriculum was developed by a “small group of activists in the battered women’s movement” with battered women and men as subject matter. The program has now become the model for western jurisdictions who seek to clearly identify and deal legislatly in prosecuting and protecting women from domestic violence.

The feminist theory underlying the Duluth Model is that men use violence within relationships to exercise power and control. According to the Duluth Model, “women and children are vulnerable to violence because of their unequal social, economic, and political status in society.”

Treatment of abusive men is focused primarily on re-education, as “we do not see men’s violence against women as stemming from individual pathology, but rather from a socially reinforced sense of entitlement.”

The program’s philosophy is intended to help batterers work to change their attitudes and personal behavior so they would learn to be nonviolent in any relationship.

VEGAN KITCHEN – 2 Quick & Easy Meal Planners: Chick Pea Stir Fry / Okra Toast Toppers

Back by popular demand, more super simple day meal planners to spice up your vegan life. This post picks up two easy cooks, a Mangetout Chick Pea stir fry and the Okra Toast Topper.

The first up is the Mangetout Chick Pea stir fry, this was actually just a Mangetout stir fry, until the “baking team” needed a bucket load of aquafaba for Banana Bread and opened a couple of chick Pea tins. Noting the stir fry was a little light on protein, in went the chick peas.

Ingredients: Here we go…. Spring Onions (two bunches cut), Onions (1), Chilli peppers (5), Fresno Peppers (3-4), Mangetout (a good couple of handfuls), bean shoots washed (1 bag), chick peas, (two tins drained), pine nuts (big handful), cranberries, (big handful) maple syrup (how sweet is your tooth ?), Chinese 5 spice (couple of tea spoons) apple (1 chopped), ginger (2 – 3 inches grated), lime pickle (3 teaspoons), garlic salt (go heavy on the garlic salt), soy sauce .

Ok so let’s get cooking,. so for us it went a little like this….

Last of all, salt with garlic salt , toss, then serve and that’s all there is to it ! Takes around 8 – 12 minutes end to end to produce this meal and takes about 3 minutes to eat it.. that’s if you did it right .

Next up is the Okra Toast Topper. If you thought the Stir Fry was quick to cook up, this one is just as quick. There are a lot of cheats in this one. We short cut by using tinned okra as we had one over, and just threw it together. It went a little like this.

Ingredients: Onions, fennel (had some left over) two lettuces (finely chopped), YES lettuces, for real !, Dijon wholegrain mustard (one tea spoon), green bell pepper, one huge tomato, tin of mixed spicy beans, tamarind sweet sauce (2 tablespoons), then add the okra, you can use tinned if cannot find any fresh okra.

cook it down until it has reduced and get your toast grilled, add the okra topper and service with a side of tomatoes. That’s all there is to it !

VEGAN KITCHEN – 2 Quick & Easy Meal Planners: Maltease Tease / Soy-A-Ckee

We have been getting a lot of requests for some lunch menu’s quick cooks, to add a little spice and flavour into your vegan days, with that in mind we will be posting up some short and super simple meal planners, you can serve them with Rice, you can service them with pasta (durum wheat only no egg obviously) or even on toast or a bed of salad.

First up we have the Maltese Tease, its a tease because you can’t help picking at it while it is cooking, and it’s a tease as its not really Maltese, it has all the flavours of a Maltese Classic and I first threw it together over looking Mellieha-Bay from a family pad high up on the cliff tops and its proved to be a definite “must have” Mediterranean sensation.

Simple set of Ingredients,. Tomato juice (carton) or plummet of tomatoes (remove the skins), as base is tomato (juice) onions (3 whole) garlic (6 cloves), add the mushrooms (usually they use meat chunks in Malta, so we obviously use mushroom or Soya, or instead, to get the right volume of protein from the Mushrooms use a box {3 cups full} about 6 grams protein).

Then add a spoon of sweet tamarind sauce, and a teaspoon of Dijon wholegrain mustard, no less no more.

Last in is the Fennel, which grows on every sngle road and in every garden, wall and pile of stone or rubble in Malta, finely chopped and in it goes. Spice with Mediterranean mixed herbs and a tea spoon and a half of Chinese five spice.

And butternut squash and Carrots, pre-boiled to soft, then sliced olives, half with stuffed peppers and half with garlic and seasoning, next up is sage and tarragon, a bunch of tarragon finely chopped and about 10 -12 sage leaves finely chopped. Cook it all down until sauce thickens and then serve it on what ever you like or fancy……

Next up is the Soy-A-Ckee, A so so very very simple throw it all in the pan , add the pre-soaked Soya chunks ( pre-soaked in vegetable Swiss bouillon stock), vegetables are courgettes and green peppers cut in chunks, onions and garlic in the base , salt, black pepper and garlic salt to flavour then cook until creamy.

Serve with any sides, we choose to serve with sides of sweetcorn, rice and broccoli and then some baked beans (glucose fructose corn syrup free). So there you go, simple easy to cook up day planner meals.

What’s so good about Ackee ? apart from its amazing buttery creamy texture, this fruit has been royally punished in cuisine as a side for the usual funeral of “salt fish”, of all things ! Ackee stands on it’s own as an excellent alternative to any cream and dairy use in savory cooking to thicken and enrichen dishes.

The ONLY thing to watch on Ackee, is that until the seed pods are open (ripe) the fruit is poisonous, so if you can’t get a supply of live outside the harvesting area then you can simply pick it up in a tin. As its cooked down in our recipe , tinned does the job.

London CLIMATE CHANGE Demo & Parade NOV 29 2015

Vegans EVERYWHERE at London climate change demo NOV 29 2015

This Years Climate Change demo rolled out 50,000 protesters in London from anti Fracking, The Green Party, Greenpeace and an overwhelming turn out from Vegan Groups. Animal Rights platforms London Vegan Actions, FBI Animals, FISHINABOX were also seen throughout the procession raising issues around Animal Agriculture and the Cowspiracy.

Vegan Climate Change activism comes from a number of sources but mainly from the UN reports analyzing the sources of greenhouse gases being tied to 51% from Animal Agriculture (basically Cow Farts and untreated Cow waste feeding into the Sea) and that only 18% was tied back to global pollution oil and gas and petrochemicals.

The Vegan argument lies in that if people en mass stop consuming Meat Dairy and Fish that the 51%main driver for climate change will fall and that is the majority of the problem fixed. Short showers, Cycling to work and turning of the lights when you leave a room certainly is a good ethic bot will not have the same impact on slowing global warming as going vegan will have.

With the amazing range of foods , proteins and alternatives to animal products available in Holland and Barrett and Whole Foods and the now inclusion of oat milk, hemp milk, vegetable proteins hitting the main supermarkets, new vegans are finding that they don’t even see a lifestyle change , just a shift in product.

This Album project focuses on the Policy or Rocket attack responses into the Gaza Strip. Drawing its title for the 2012 campaign and following the attacks through to 2014 under Operation Protective edge.

An Israeli full-scale war was launched yesterday against Palestinian civilians in Gaza. The war was announced by Israel to be as a military operation that took a biblical name “Pillar of the Clouds”.
So far, 15 Palestinians killed whom of which 8 civilians including 5 children, three women and an old man. Israeli army launched a number of 160 air raids from Air, Ground and Naval forces. The bombing campaign started in 2012 under the code name “עַמּוּד עָנָן “ literally “Pillar of Cloud” that set a precedent in rocket warfare response never before seen in military combat. The premise that for every one rocket falling into Israel, a response of 100 hundred rockets would be sent in return.

The Pillar of Clouds campaign was so named referencing the manifestation of the God of Israel in the Torah, the five books of Moses which appear at the beginning of the Old Testament Bible. According to “Exodus”, the Pillar of Cloud guided the Israelites by day during the Exodus from Eygpt. The Pillar of Cloud is traditionally paired with the divine presence by night as a Pillar of Fire which provided a guiding light.

The Pillar of Cloud defence has become a blueprint in the region and was applied again, to a lesser degree in 2014 under Operation Protective Edge. In the Gaza Strip the missile campaign left over 2,000 Gazans killed and an excess of 10,000 wounded including 3,300 children of whom 75% have been permanently disabled.

The Hamas missile campaign claimed 67 Israeli civilians of which 5 were children and 467 IDF members in the combat and missile fall out zone

Well, the Shelter is so far sometimes we just stop at friends on the 2nd floor on the way down and stay there. Sometimes we catch them with curlers in their hair or in their dressing gowns.

I don’t really see why we even bother to try to get to the shelters, The Iron Dome knocks out nearly all the Hamas missiles anyway and the News reported one that got missed was batted out to sea by a gust of wind and exploded in the water.

We make light of the problem. it is true but we are nervous, the Sirens ring in your ears for hours and when we hear that someone has lost an eye or be caught by some debris it worries us.

We don’t want to make light of the conflict itself, or of what we here about the real suffering, Yes Yes, it causes innocent civilians here and over the other side of the green line and frankly we would rather have nothing to do with it, to be left to live out our everyday lives , but when the sirens wail, when they see the “boom” then people, most of them, maybe all of them even, thank God for the Security Forces quick response to attacks and hope they will be ever watchful against these trigger happy fanatics.

Why a civilized country should have to be put under this stress ?

The Remains of 8 people , two small brothers, mother, grandparents, two sisters and the little niece. Zaki, is still searching for a head. So far he has found only 13 legs, with small and large feet. Grandfather keep a small Olive Grove , there was no wall as people like to shade themselves under the tree so he marked the boundary of the land with flower pots. Because sometimes lovers came secretly to the grove a gang of young teenagers used to smash the pots and hurl insults and Grandfather used to chase them from the grove with a stick.

الجد عندو بستان صغير من الزيتون, ماكان في سور, الناس تحب تتفيا تحت الشجر عشان هيك هوه حط حدود للارض من حواض الورد.لانو احيانا العشاق كانو يجو للبستان و شلة من الولاد تكسر هل الاحواض وترميها والجد كان عطول يلحقهم بالبستان وهو حامل عصايتو .

On the Friday when the rockets fell , Grandfather didn’t need to chase the boys from the Grove, nor the Saturday or the week after. Each day he would come out with stick ready until on hearing the news that the boys had been killed during the rocket strike, dropped sobbing to the ground letting the stick fall and holding his head in his hands cried out to God to restore them to life, that if they were restored he would let them come and smash the pots every day just for them to live again. Rachel a 23 year old American activist, had gone out to Gaza to protest land reforms and fight against the Isreali Housing programme. Her group had been holding up tanks and bulldozers all morning in Hi Es Salam, Rafah. Other foreigners who were with her said the driver of the bulldozer was aware that Rachel was there, and continued to destroy the houses.

Rachel had engaged the Bulldozers attention with a megaphone. At first he just he dropped sand and other heavy debris on her to drive out of the demolition zone but then took matters further by using the bulldozer to push her to the ground and twice drive over her. Both arms, legs and skull were fractured. She was transferred out of the demolition zone to hospital, where she later died. The demolitions continued on schedule, though has been since questioned as illegal.

2005 marked the “Hitnatkut” the official withdrawal of the Israeli Army and the dismantling of settlements in the strip.

Governments have changed in Israel and the question and relevance of Israeli desires for beach front properties along the strip must be raised once again.

Is the up cycling of Rocket campaigns, evident since the Pillar of Clouds, just a precursor to a west bank style settlement program ? A future paradise, a carbon copy, a settlement dream of the condo overlooking the Hebron Heights only available in Gaza City or of the Philadelphia route ?

Is the real blueprint drafted off the back of the rocket campaigns actually an evolution of the Strip as a Mediterranean beach paradise

The result of our inquiry on the project has meant that some real film and audio content intended for use is disallowed for public broadcast., namely interviews with settlers and Palestinian Arabs in the West Bank, of video footage detailing parts of the town, street, of military personnel and scenes of “disagreement” between the two communities in the settlement areas.

We have though allowed to recreate dialogue and provide comment of observations based around filming in Hebron West Bank, though are obliged due to broadcast restrictions to advise listeners that all content is a reconstruction and based on a theatrical re-presentation of events.

What Observations can be seen, when regarding settlements, when taking as an example, Hebron in the West Bank ?

The Following observations regarding living conditions can be noted:

A prominence of Israeli anti Arabic graffiti sprayed on Arab establishments.

Windows in Arab homes appear to have been smashed and the properties “run down” yet Jewish Settlers properties are in splendid condition.

The construction of cages around Arab properties, where none exist around Jewish properties on the same street.
(Note: the Cages have been provided by Israel to protect Arab Civilians from Bering assaulted and stoned by Settlers )

There is Military policing on foot by the IDF of Public Streets, in the settlement zone in Full Combat gear. Their Guns are always dropped towards the Arab side not the settlement side.

In talking to residents in the settlement zone, Jewish Settlers talk of looking out through motivation windows on to the strip, of a land ripe for development and once cleared inclusion into the Israeli Fold.

The Settlers complain of noise levels, that the Palestinian residents keep irregular hours and wail and shout constantly, that because of this, the happiness of the community is strengthen only by the settlement program.
In talking to Arab Citizens in the Settlement Zone, they talk of constant abuse by Settlers, common assault, throwing of stones and bottles, of being preventing from intervening against bullying, of having to ask permission from the IDF to cross a street to the Settler side and that any response to aggression by Palestinians, women or children , will result in their removal and detention by the IDF.

YESTERDAY’S NEWS TODAY – Un-Writing the so called “truth” conspiracy NUMBER ONE

(What did you miss ? What was hidden from you ? VEGAN ANARCHIST REVOLUTION SYMBOL)

This was one of those odd meetings in Westminster Station on the circle line concourse today, Just a hoodie who i used to know in the early days of setting up the FISHINABOX, part of the early crew who dropped out to drop out permanently (but said he’s more dropping “in” as dropping “out” is about taking what the system gives you up the backside) and who still keeps enough tabs on my movements to know me. It was refreshing, catching up n some of the early Album socio-political ideas we shared

He finds me in the crowd, comes up to me, standing up close and talking like we had secrets to tell but no real secrets of any consequence. For the sake of argument, let’s call him “Yesterdays news today”, and I (writing this article) , Kumafaro the trumpet player, finally giving him the space he is looking for to add to the overall FISHINABOX message.

“Yesterday’s news Today” gave me his paper, he’s no fixed abode these days he says. I look at his hands, and ask about the paper, “is there a story in it” I ask looking at the scribbled cover and then to his hands scarred with cigarette burns and knuckles grazed, dirt under the fingernails and a graying unshaven look, nothing sinister just a few days out of digs is all,.

I flick through the pages of the News rag, it’s chaos, black ink everywhere, incoherent in places,. but what i pick up is the certain issues , short notes in his own way, that make me think, that yes, this is the news that they un-write in the editing rooms, it might even be subcioncious but its there, these are the underlying issues with whats being put out to the public,. the message behind the story that’s always hidden, the scam , the lie , the double standard. I smile , Yesterday’s news today makes perfect sense as part of the news feed, chaos or not.. its relevant. relevant to our daily city lives, relevant because this is how journalism and the media keep us tuned in to shit while not picking up whats important in a story.. Yesterdays news today,.has rewritten the news.

After photographing the pages on the station concourse, i did the right thing and dropped the newspaper into the next Circle line carriage heading towards liverpool street. This post is for “Yesterdays news Today”. If the paper gets picked up by anyone and they track it back to the news feed here, hey send me a picture with your self and the paper and ill post it on the story feed, i will also trade it with you for a FISHINABOX CD……… just for the fun of the finding..

In the meantime lets roll out the content. “Yesterday’s news Today” says he will run some more as long as we post articles about them,. I suppose its actually a kind of fan mail of a sort. We are obliged to pixel-ate some of the content on the ad’s such as branding and features otherwise the pages are as were photographed on the station concourse…So let’s take a look at what “Yesterday’s news Today” delivered………

The Newspaper was full of captions on every page, we have just put up a sample of them here for acknowledgement.

The principle of re-writing the news with the underlying issues put back is an eye opener to how much we are all being brainwashed, conditioned and sold in to consumer slavery.

Though I post the article for an old colleague who dropped “in” rather than “out” I also hope that some of the content here strikes a chord with people, that they can take a second glance at a daily news paper and realize that there is more behind the story that the pitiful drivel the gets plastered across celebrity lifestyle sections and the latest fashion or trend.
